Soliciting ministerial support for the year and for the centre

Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Presenting the ‘Education for Democracy’ project and its two chief pillars.

Taking into consideration the imminence of the Polish presidency in the European Union, we took part in a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so as to present the project Education for Democracy. The subject of our talks with the vice-minister and the directors of all the ministry’s departments were two chief pillars of the project – i.e. making the year 2025 the Year of Education for Democracy and the establishment of the European Centre for the Education for Democracy located in Poland.

We discussed actions aiming at promoting our initiative and  our idea was credited as multi-faceted and potentially beneficial in different spheres, such as international cooperation, education, or social policy. This diversification make it impossible for the project to be executed by one governmental body, and it requires cooperation between many ministries. On the one hand, it was a positive signal emphasising the wide range of benefits resulting from our initiative. On the other hand, finding a central governmental body which might comprehensively support the project constituted a challenge. This is why it was fund crucial to identify proper mechanisms of cooperation between ministries which could help to effectively implement the Year of Education for Democracy.

We continue our endeavours to solicit support on the highest governmental levels, believing that our initiative will bring benefits for Poland and for the European Union.
