Mission and activity objectives

IKA (The International Janusz Korczak Association) is a Federation of organisations dedicated to the work of Janusz Korczak around the world. The Association initiates and supports projects inspired by Korczak's pedagogy and devoted to children's rights.

IKA’s Headquarters is registered in Warsaw, the city of Korczak, at the original address of one of Korczak’s Democratic Homes. 

The IKA was founded in 1979 on the initiative of Poland, Israel, Russia, Germany and Switzerland. It currently consists of 48 organizations worldwide, countries, including France, Lithuania, England, the Netherlands, Brazil, Japan, Australia, the USA, Congo and the Ivory Coast, Tunesia, Hungary, Sweden.

Networking, organizing and co-organizing events, organising courses, study visits.
