Department of Education and Development

The Department of Education and Development is meant to design core curricula for the education for democracy in European schools and societies, and to monitor the scope of the realisation of education for democracy and the effectiveness of democratic education in particular countries.

The department’s task is organising and establishing university Collegium Nobilium Novum, and, subsequently cooperation with the scientific personnel of the university in the realisation of education for democracy in all age groups of the society. In this regard the department will be constructing (lifewide) lifelong education programmes, and announcing, financing, and monitoring contests for educational programmes for democracy carried out (1) online in public and social media, (2) online through the Internet Academy, (3) offline by non-governmental organisations in the form of people’s universities or universities of third age.

The department is meant to monitor and consult in European countries core curricula of school subjects containing elements of education for democracy, and also to issue methodological manuals for teachers, and to organise instructional trainings and conferences for teachers and volunteers running educational activities for democracy.

The department is meant – on the level of organisation – to supervise Collegium Nobilium Novum, the task of which will be the education of entrants for work in civil service and politics, and their occupational further education under post-graduate programme Master of Public and Political Governance, and also to monitor the effectiveness of their educational actions.

PhD in humanisties, physicist, completed post-graduate studies in computer science and educational measurement. He worked in education as a teacher, methodologist, the director of the Voivodeship Team of Teacher Methodologists and School Inspectors of the Educational Welfare Authority in Leszno and the Vice-Director of the Teachers’ Further Education Centre in Poznań. He was the president of Leszno Pedagogical Association, and was awarded by the Education Welfare Officer, Minister of Edication, and with a Jan Amos Komenski Medal. He represented Poland in research programmes carried out under auspices of UNESCO and the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievements; he was a deputy of the national coordinator in the programme Second International Science Study and the national coordinator of studies in the programme Reading Literacy Study. Author and co-author of scientific publications on educational measurement and methodology of educational research, author of television broadcasts of the Teacher Radio-Television University. Laureate of literary contests, author of stories and radio play rewarded in contests of the Polish Radio Chief Editorial Office for Educational and Popular Science Programmes.
